CRISPR is emerging technology which makes DNA editing considerably easier than was previously possible. This new tool can make substantial contributions to the fields of medicine, industry, agriculture and more.

CRISPR was invented by Jennifer Doudna and Emmanuelle Charpentier, who both received a Nobel Prize for their pioneering work on this genetic engineering technology.

Doudna has become a prominent public spokesperson who explains CRISPR to the public in many interviews. She leads a team at the Innovative Genomics Institute. In addition to IGI's website, they also can be explored on their Facebook page.
